We hope you will find your question answered below, but if you still want to ask us something, please contact us.
Welltech Medical offers a holistic, all-encompassing, service. Our staff and practitioners support the client from the point of initial enquiry, through to assessment and ultimately the delivery of an ongoing treatment plan.
Whether you just need one or two counselling sessions, or you are looking for a full diagnostic
assessment for a mental health condition or behavioural issue, or need ongoing therapy, Welltech
Medical will help you at each stage focusing on matching specialist support to individual needs.
We’re told that things will get worse, numbers of infections and death rates will rise. It is all very
alarming. And it is anxiety provoking.
Obviously, it is normal to be anxious but it is also important to look after our mental health in this anxiety-provoking period. Just as good physical hygiene, such as washing your hands, is important, it’s equally important to look after your mental hygiene.
Welltech Medical provides appointments from the comfort of your home or when you are on the go, using our virtual clinic (video call online) or a telephone call. Face-to-face appointments at a clinic are temporarily suspended, until social distancing guidelines allow.
Safety and quality are paramount. All our clinicians are experienced practitioners and those offering appointments for children have undergone rigorous safeguarding checks via the Disclosure and Barring Service. We also check and view evidence of their identity, professional registration and qualifications before they display their profiles on our website. Counselling
Counselling involves a series of formal sessions where the therapist and the client talk about the client’s issues and feelings. Even short-term therapy typically involves six to 12 sessions. The sessions take place at a regular, agreed time and in a ‘safe’ private place where the client and therapist will not be overheard or interrupted.
Counselling is not about giving advice or opinions, nor is it a friendly chat with a friend. The therapist helps the client to understand themselves better and find their own solutions to resolve or cope with their situation.
Psychology
Psychology is the scientific study of people, the mind and behaviour. Psychologists attempt to understand the role of mental functions in individual and social behaviour.
Psychiatry
A psychiatrist is a physician who specialises in psychiatry, the branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, study, and treatment of mental disorders. Psychiatrists are medical doctors, unlike psychologists, and assess patients to determine whether their symptoms are the result of a physical illness, a combination of physical and mental ailments, or strictly psychiatric.
For more information on each of the clinical fields, see ‘Explanation of Roles’.
Yes, our consultant psychiatrists are medical doctors and therefore able toprescribe medication, should they deem it appropriate. If not, they can work with your GP (subject to GP’s approval) on a shared care agreement to manage the prescription of medication.
Between them all, our network of practitioners cover the majority of mental health conditions and disorders. If you are facing any other problem or have a symptom not listed in our menuplease contact us to discuss.
We provide primary assessment for a very low cost (starting from £50) depending on the type of clinician you chose to see. A further cost of treatment varies depending on the type of treatment/package that is recommended for you from the assessment.
A consultation with a clinical practitioner starts from £350.
If you have medical insurance, it is best to check with your policy and insurer to see if the cover is applicable.
Packages are more complex services, usually involving several appointments for assessment and/or treatment. When you click from the menu to book a package, a nominal payment is taken. Your requested appointment will show as pending so that an experienced clinician, who is able to offer the package, may contact you. This will be to discuss what the package involves, how it works and allow you to ask any questions you may have.
This consultation may or may not result in an appointment but either way, will be helpful to inform your next steps. Packages are involved and complex so we want you to be able to discuss them fully with an experienced clinician, before deciding to commit, or otherwise. For this reason, packages cannot be arranged at short notice but we should be able to confirm the initial consultation within a day or two.
Virtual therapy or online counselling has become an increasingly popular option.
Growing number of patients seem to be attracted by the convenience, and now - more than ever - face-to-face therapy just isn’t an option, whether that’s for financial, geographical, or covid-related reasons.
We aim to provide a clinician near you. We can also offer a consultation and treatment from the comfort of your home, using our virtual clinic (online video) or a telephone call with a clinician. This type of appointment may depend on your specific needs, type of treatment and therapy.

Yes! In fact, the majority of our practitioners are qualified to work with children and adolescents, and many specialise in this area. You can search practitioner by child, adolescent and adult services.
If you have medical or health insurance, it is best to check with your policy and insurer first to see if the cover you have is applicable. They may ask you for further details. Insurers often advise for you to pay first and then claim back the cost. Your insurer will have a process to manage all this.
Our case study shows a young person with a 2-month wait for CAMHS to access a 90-minute assessment with a consultant psychiatrist and the much-needed medication. Welltech Medical can bridge the gap by cutting down high risk waiting times with interim, specialist support.
In the last decade, we have seen an increasing awareness of mental health problems in the general population. The Children and Adolescent Services within the NHS (CAMHS) are a finite resource, designed to meet the needs of a specific number of young people at a time. As demand has increased, CAMHS has attempted to deploy its limited resources in the most efficient manner.
We believe other services need enabling - particularly schools and GPs - to provide or signpost much needed preventative mental health interventions. This would allow CAMHS to become more effective and responsive, performing the role it is designed for.

“As founders of the company we are also parents and have, in our personal and professional capacities, experienced the distress of families who struggle to find the right help for their loved ones when serious emotional, behavioural and mental health challenges arise. There is so much overwhelming information online, with the potential of tools for connecting people usefully, to each other and essential services. Our mission is to help make mental health care more accessible and affordable.”

We only take on board clinicians who are fully qualified and registered with the appropriate professional bodies. Before joining us, all clinicians have to provide evidence of their qualifications, professional association/registration and a valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for those working with children, as evidence of Safer Recruitment. Once you have had your appointment, we invite you to provide feedback, so we may monitor the quality of service.
Better Access
You can access support quickly and avoid the long waiting times, particularly for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. In some areas waiting times to support adults are worse.
More Flexibility
Via the NHS you can normally only access care in the area you live.
You can access private help in an area that suits you, whatever your location.
You may book a consultation or appointment at a time that suits you.
More Choice, Taking Control
You may want a particular type of therapy that the NHS does not offer in your area.
Going private means you may find a specialist of your choice, accessing a consultant directly.
Medical or Health Insurance: you may already be covered
If you have medical or health insurance, check if the policy covers the treatment or care you need. Ask your insurance company about this first.
Early Help:
feel better, quicker
